Revolution is just over the horizon

The Militant Tendency is a part of the modern history of the Labour Party, and it is an even more important part of the history of the local labour movement, though it would be hard to tell that today, given the almost total victory of New Labour within the party.

Neil Kinnock defeated Militant, and on the foundation of that defeat Tony Blair built New Labour, a successful entrist movement at the very top of the Labour Party.

Many of Militant's leading cadres were recruited here in the city, often while they were students at Sussex University. So where are they now?

The Militant Tendency evolved or mutated,
depending on your point of view,
into today's Socialist Party
